As February comes to a close, we reflect on the important stories celebrated during Black History Month. Each year, we honor the impact of the Black/African diaspora in technology, arts, and everything in between.

For 2025, our Black Alliance Employee Resource Group (ERG) chose “The Global Impact of Black/African Labor,” as the theme. We spent this past month engaging in a diverse range of activities to honor this theme.

  1. Healing Circle Discussion: Celebrating Black Joy:
In partnership with Modern Health, we explored the meaning of Black Joy and what support feels and looks like to the Black/African community. Through this intimate discussion, we listened, learned, and made meaningful connections with each other.

  2. Black History Month Jeopardy Event:
Our contestants tackled trivia questions across categories like influential figures, cultural tidbits, sports, and much more. The game offered a blend of friendly competition and educational moments making it entertaining and insightful for all.

  3. Food Heritage Events:
Every year, across the globe, our offices come together to enjoy a delicious meal by a Black/African-owned business or Black/African-inspired culture. This year was no different as Qlikkies came together to enjoy the diversity and richness of Black/African cuisine.

  4. Conversation with Ashlee Davis:
We were delighted to welcome Ashlee Davis, Global Head of DEI at Ancestry.com, to Qlik for an incredible conversation on the impact of Black/African labor, and the responsibility of data protection as genealogy becomes more accessible. As a data-analytics company, we know data is important and recognize the power it holds.
