Ironclad Technology Services and Qlik Partner to Deliver Data Migration and Integration Solutions to Department of Defense

Norfolk, VA – Ironclad Technology Services and Qlik® announced today a partnership to deliver Qlik’s Data Integration Platform to a department within the Department of Defense. The department will use the solution to migrate data from ten legacy financial systems into one integrated large-scale data lake and enable real-time data replication to the data warehouse in order to offload reporting and support real-time analytics.

Qlik will bring all of the department’s financial systems into one platform that is easily auditable across all divisions and can create one consolidated general ledger for the branch. Ironclad, a trusted provider of IT and professional services to the U.S. federal government, selected Qlik because it can withstand the increased need for throughput that the integration of the systems demands. It will allow the department to move data seamlessly from its source, organize the data separately downstream, and generate better reports without having to move the data upstream.

“We had to manually rebuild our data replication any time we changed anything in the legacy systems, which was extremely time-consuming,” Chris Hutcheson, vice president of operations at Ironclad. “We are able to automate these processes and manipulate tables however we need with Qlik data integration so that it can anticipate what the data will look like downstream.”

The platform will enable the department to offload performance to other databases so it can maintain user requirements and allow users to run the analytics they need without having to run reports that would cause a drag on the system. The platform also offers a data recovery tool and outside the box capabilities that the department can implement to reduce downtimes and enhance access.
