As the growth in embedding analytics into a product, application or service continues to accelerate in the market, some issues continue to frustrate our ISV and Data Provider partners in their journey to the cloud.
Common issues for our partners include the need to 1) quickly and efficiently onboard, provision and manage tenants serving hundreds to thousands of end customers (and customize where necessary), 2) provide auditability and visibility to understand their customer engagement and usage patterns, and finally, 3) help reduce the overall cost of deploying their embedded analytics solution in the cloud.
As Qlik’s product team extends Qlik Sense SaaS to our OEM partners, we considered and anticipated their struggles with SaaS and wanted to provide a cloud experience not currently available in the market. We’ve witnessed the SaaS market leaning hard into automation, orchestration and event driven mechanisms to help ease the ability to provision, onboard and ultimately manage an OEM’s customers.
Our goal is to ease our OEM partners’ cloud journey – make it simpler, faster, and supporting automations along the way. Less coding, less manual effort will only improve over the next few quarters. We want our partners to enjoy not only the best data analytics platform, but also the best analytics integration and deployment experience in the market. So, we’re ensuring the right deployment option to support this experience – Multitenant Provisioning. We’re introducing a continuous release cadence to make our ISV and Data Providers’ developers’ lives easier.
What is it? Qlik now offers Multitenant Provisioning as the recommended deployment option to accelerate and ease your cloud journey. Take a listen to a short overview.
With Multitenant Provisioning in Qlik Cloud, we’re supporting devops-led tenant provisioning for our ISV and Data Provider partners (and our enterprise accounts too!) via APIs. We’ll support partners in programmatically driving analytics tenant onboarding (and soon total tenant management) alongside their applications using our APIs whether they need four or need to scale to 4000 customer tenants or more!
What does this mean? First a quote from CTO, Tim Burke, at Arch Systems as he works through our Qlik Early Access Program, “One of the things we’ve been excited about collaborating with Qlik on is increased levels of automation for multitenant scenarios like ours…we’re exploring some of the more advanced Qlik APIs they have…allowing us to increase even further our levels of automation around deploying a Qlik app, especially an update to all of our individual customers.”
In addition, our existing Qlik Cloud monitoring apps will soon support multitenancy. So, data spanning multiple tenants will be able to be collected and viewed from a single parent tenant. An ISV partner can now see metrics and information from all of their Qlik Cloud tenants within a single dashboard, which will be made available in the near future as the ‘OEM Dashboard’. This new capability is entirely additive to our existing monitoring apps. This capability can be toggled on or off, allowing both OEM partners (and enterprise customers) to use the same monitoring apps.
Our goal is to ease our OEM partners’ cloud journey – make it simpler, faster, and supporting automations along the way. Less coding, less manual effort will only improve over the next few quarters. Not just talk about it but delivering on it. We want our partners to enjoy the best analytics integration and deployment experience in the market. So, we’re ensuring the right deployment option to support this experience with Multitenant Provisioning.
